I'm obsessed with food. Not just what to eat for lunch today (though, yes, that too), but where it came from, how and by whom it was produced (and with how much processing), and how far it had to travel to get to me, and what kinds of privilege it takes to be able to even make an issue out of all these things in the first place.
I have a bunch of general rules to guide my food choices (no refined flour or sugar, no hydrogenated things, as minimally processed as possible, no out-of-season produce, no factory-farmed animal products), the means to access what I need to follow them (a flexible schedule to shop at the farmers market, a car to get me to the best grocery stores), in addition to a bunch of reasons to break them. And I want to talk about it.

Wait -- the extra tub appeared in your dreams, or for reals?
I'm still so, so sorry about the Earth Balance. But the Awards-Show Pudding was worth it, no?
the earth balance appeared in my dream only. if i want to make it appear for real, i'll actually need to admit i want it and make an effort.
and yes, the awards-show pudding was so worth it. in fact, i was just talking about the awards-show pudding earlier tonight.
